Luke was born and brought up in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. After leaving school in 1996, he joined the British Army and trained as a Vehicle Mechanic, working on a wide range of military vehicles.
After a few years, Luke moved into the finance side of the Army, gaining over 20 years of experience across financial accounts, payroll, allowances and expenses.
During his military career, Luke completed extensive courses that equipped him to run Unit Financial Accounts. This role included maintaining multiple Regimental accounts, ensuring compliance with UK financial legislation and regulations, and supporting payroll responsibilities for military personnel.
Luke completed 26 years of military service, working in the UK and overseas, including Germany, Canada, the USA and Poland. He was also deployed on operations to Bosnia, Iraq and Estonia.
Throughout his career, Luke maintained the high level of attention to detail, accuracy and professionalism required in the finance sector. He was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in recognition of his long career and exemplary service.
Outside of work, Luke enjoys his motorbikes, cycling, running and spending time with his family.
